In 1968 college Library started functioning on the ground floor of the main building with a small number of collections. At the initial stage, books of liberal Arts, Humanities and some basic disciplines were drawn from Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara. From 1969, Science and Commerce were introduced in College curriculum. Books of those departments were included gradually in the Library. The Library was shifted from the ground floor to 2nd floor and subsequently in 2001 Library was shifted in the present place. The area of library was originally-3500 sq.ft and it is extended 3700 sq.ft in 2011. The College provides a scientifically arranged library with a spacious and noise-free reading room for students. As the Computerization of the library is complete, students may search for books through computer also.
BG College library has well collection with a good number of national and international books, journals in the field of Arts, Commerce and Science. Total number of collections including text books and reference books are 28000 till the academic year 2013-14. The library has rich collection of e-document including e-journals and e-books and also with the modern and latest technology to cope up with latest development to provide quality and quick services to its users.
Library has rich special collection in the subject of English, Geography, Commerce and Urdu for the post Graduate students of the college.

The college has a spacious partly air-conditioned Central Library equipped with various modern IT facilities. There is a separate reading room for the students. The sitting capacity of the reading room of the library is for 60 readers. LAN and WiFi networks are there for the students and teachers.
The library security surveillance system is equipped with modern CCTV cameras. The Library is computerized with KOHA library management software. OPAC facilities are available through the campus network. It is automated and is one of the most modern technical libraries under West Bengal State University.
The library has a rich collection of national /international books and journals in the field of Commerce, Arts & Science on different subjects including reference books. The subjects include ASPM, Bengali, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Education, Electronics, English, Environment, Food and Nutrition, Geography, Hindi, History, Journalism, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Physiology, Political Science, Sanskrit, Urdu & Zoology. Total collections including text books & reference books are more than 29 thousand up to financial year 2016-17.
